This project is a multi-channel video installation showing Bianca, a white-faced lady, touring the countryside of Tanzania. Smeared in white makeup, with a blond wig and a floral dress, she echoes a clumsy version of Leni Riefenstahl’s saturated journeys to Africa. Bianca’s attempts to learn local traditions are pathetic yet her curiosity makes her somewhat amiable. As the bright Aafrican sun burns the white skin of Bianca, layers of colonial dynamics mixed with basic human social needs unfold and expose a careless fool in a foreiign land.
